Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Los Angeles, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Hawaiian food is like a big hug from your favorite auntie. It is exactly what you want even though you don’t know it The food is a great version of all of the classics. Mac salad. Yes please. Kailua pork. On point. The beef short ribs though. Like Sunday dinner at your mom’s house. And the world famous sweet roll to get all those juices. Even the chicken was great, which can sometimes be dry or an afterthought. Put it all together and it’s like stopping at a local spot in Oahu. Luau fire show not included.

9 of us met here for a birthday lunch. The service was great. Every question was answered truthfully. We all enjoyed our food, everyone complimented the chef. They brought the birthday girl bread pudding with a scoop of delicious ice-cream. Unlike most restaurants, they charged for it. We drove 55 miles and I would return.

It was the most horrible experience in the world of hawaiin food!!!!! I had to go to provecho calimex which is so much better. I just wanted some good hawaiin food. I first got the loco moco and boy oh boy it was horrible the meat was mushed and sweet inside it wasn’t even a patty! The macaroni salad was horrid I better not get sick and the rice was horrible too!!! Geezus and I got the chicken katsu that was funny it was nothing like the picture and it was blend no flavor and no care! My chicken was burnt I was so disappointed and I had to be excused and pay for my soda. This restaurant should go out of business or readjust to the menu and make real Hawaiin food. There is no love and the servers and employees don’t really care either! It was really bad and the community needs to do something about this place. Humans don’t deserve this.

I ordered a smaller version of the Hawaiian Royale and it was delicious. My spouse ordered the mix plate and was very satisfied. I even had enough for leftovers later. The teriyaki sauce on the rice was a great flavor booster. Our teenager ordered a burger with fries and enjoyed it. She also enjoyed a passionfruit slushie. Will definitely return to this restaurant on my next trip.
